FRACTIONAL STITCH

Some patterns include fractional stitches to add small details. Three-quarter (3⁄4) or quarter (1⁄4) stitches look the same on the pattern. As the stitcher, you have to choose which one you think would work best depending on the design. If you see two of them in the same square, one will be a 3⁄4 and one will be a 1⁄4 stitch. Making the dominant colour or the one that should pop out the 3⁄4 stitch is advisable.

In both cases, you will need to carefully apply some pressure to push your needle through the centre of the square as there is no hole there.
